Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Route, Shirakawa-go, and Takayama

Tateyama in known as one of the heavy snowfall areas in Japan with average annual snowfall of 8m (27 ft.) near the top. The heaviest section "Ohtani" reaches nearly 20m (67 ft.). "Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Route" is open in late April every year when the massive amounts of snow are still intact. Spend a night at 2,450m (8,167 ft.) watching a myriad of stars at night and a beautiful sunrise over the sea of clouds in the morning. These will surely be among your fondest memories of Japan. This 4-day tour gives you a chance to stay in the heart of Takayama on day-one and in a thatched-roof house in Shirakawa-go (World Heritage Site) on day-two.

Kamikochi and Kurobe Valley Tram

This is the best season to enjoy the vivid green of leaves and onsens at three remarkable locations. Day-one, we visit Kamikochi and spend a night at the famous Kamikochi Imperial Hotel, the park's finest accommodation. Please enjoy yourself hiking in the morning mist and under the shade of green leaves with wildlife including waterfowl and monkeys. Day-two, we stay at Otari Onsen in Nagano, known for 400 years for the medicinal qualities of the water of this hot spring. Day-three, we board a Kurobe valley tram and travel all the way to the end of the line and spend the night in the midst of the Kurobe valley on your final day.

Mt.Fuji Sunrise Night Trek

How about watching the sunrise from the top of Japan's highest peak, Mt. Fuji, at 3,776m/12,587ft. ? We're sure this will be a lifelong memory. This is a self-guided tour depart- ing from the 5th of 10 stations at night so that you can climb at your own pace. After the descent, we stop at a public hot spring facility at which you can refresh yourself before reaching Tokyo.

Kurobe Valley Trek

"Kurobe Valley" is dubbed one of the last, rarely visited regions in Japan. The snow accumulated in the mountains pours into the bottom of the valley throughout summer. The trail along Kurobe river is finally open after the snow has finally melted in September and remains open for only two months. Seize this short, beautiful window of opportunity. The trail contains some treacherous points but the pristine beauty will never be forgotten.

In this 4-day tour, we visit three towns in which old-style, Edo period Japan remains. Day-one, we stay in the heart of "Old Town" in Takayama. Day-two, we visit Shirakawa-go (UNESCO World Heritage Sites) and stay at a thatched-roof house. Day-three, we stay in Magome-juku, 43rd old post town on the ancient highway "Nakasendo" that connects Tokyo and Kyoto.

Kamikochi Snowshoe Trek
<2 Days 1 Night / 3 Days 2 Nights>
Why not walk on the snow in Kamikochi with snowshoes? No tour can take you to "quiet and sacred Kamikochi" in winter like this tour ! We stop in Matsumoto to have a delicious 'Soba' noodles lunch break and stay at a hidden hot spring ryokan in 'Shirahone Onsen' on Day 1. We have a nice and easy walk of about 10km in Kamikochi on Day 2, including the lunch break by 'Kappa-bashi bridge', another land mark in the park.
